Cider is a popular drink in Chicago and the owners of two successful bars Fountainhead and The Bar on Buena will open The Northman, Chicago’s first bar dedicated to cider, this Spring.
The Northman will have more than 100 ciders on draft, cask and in bottles. While the focus is on cider, the bar will also offer beer, wines and spirits.
“We are excited to share our love of cider with cider and drink fans and hope that they will embrace the first cider-focused establishment in Chicago,” says managing partner Aaron Zacharias. “The curated cider list is going to be incredible. In addition, we will have a menu created by executive chef Cleetus Friedman designed to highlight the diverse selection of ciders and other libations.” Friedman plans to focus on sustainability and bring warm, hearty fare to the table.
