July 8, 2016 — Whew! We were worried that our friends would think we were déclassé but lowbrow has been blessed by Vogue in a recent article titled “The Summer of F’rosé? Why It’s All About the Wine Slushie”. Their recipe included prickly-pear juice and darn, wouldn’t you know it, we are fresh out of prickly-pear.
So we decided to check in with one of the most reliable sites we call on when we want a good recipe for lemon meringue pie or roasting a chicken. Allrecipes.com has recipes galore for boozy slushies made with wine or spirits such as brandy, vodka, rum, whiskey et al. Their Raspberry Rosé Wine Slushie sounds divine with the addition of triple sec. Here’s the recipe but check their web site; it has more than 70 inspiring recipes and enticing photographs.

Combine 3 cups of frozen raspberries, 16 ounces of chilled rosé wine, 1 cup of ice cubes, and a quarter cup of triple sec in a blender. Blend until smooth. Makes 6 servings and takes 5 minutes.
