August 12, 2016 – Nothing beats sitting outside on a warm summer night sipping on something slightly sweet and maybe fruity. And nothing beats rum as the best base for summertime drinks that are simple but full of flavor.
The perception of rum tends to be the tropics and beach bums – and who doesn’t want to be a beach bum? But it is so much more, and its image is shifting as mixologists discover and respect the complexity and layers of flavor making rum versatile and very drinkable.
We reached out to two leading rum brands that you are sure to have on hand so that when next Tuesday rolls around (August 16) you can raise your glass and enjoy rum’s tropical roots and its newly appreciated sophistication.
This National Rum Day, Bacardi is calling for consumers to swap out your favorite bourbon or gin classic cocktail recipe for a rum alternative that will have you rethinking the spirit’s versatility.
