December 2, 2016 – This has got to be the easiest way to support our troops and it doesn’t cost a dime. All you have to do is register with GoodWorld.me and Crown Royal will donate $1 to their longstanding partners at Packages From Home. Between now and the end of the year, their commitment is $50,000.
To a non-profit like Packages From Home, $50,000 is a very tidy sum to help defray the expense of shipping packages to troops stationed overseas as well as to purchase products for their gift boxes.
As one of several facets of Crown Royal’s new campaign “Live Generously and Life Will treat You Royally”, the company is partnering with GoodWorld, a tech startup that facilitates charitable giving on social media. People are encouraged to support worthy causes by commenting #donate on Facebook posts of participating charities, tweeting #donate at a cause’s username or by signing up at GoodWorld.me to trigger real-time donations. Crown Royal and Packages From Home have worked together to send nearly half a million Crown Royal Care Packages to active duty troops overseas over the past five years
packages-from-homePackagesFromHome.org is an amazing organization founded in 2004 by Kathleen Lewis, an Arizona mother whose son, Christian, was deployed to Iraq with the Army’s 1st Infantry Division. Their outreach has expanded to provide care packages to returning and homeless veterans, military dogs, and a special program for Native Americans serving in the military. We can’t all be in Phoenix, Arizona to join the volunteers packing boxes but we can still show our support for the troops with a donation. It costs $17 to ship each box so defraying the cost of postage of a box or two would be a great way to send some cheer to the troops this Season.
