A Blind Tasting With Eyes Wide Open
May 23, 2013-If you and your friends are fairly new to wine, and often perplexed by its complexity, a blind tasting is just the ticket for a fun gathering. Tasting wines blind simply means hiding the bottle so the tasters don’t know what they are tasting.
There are literally thousands of groups who get together regularly to taste blind. Sometimes they concentrate on one varietal or type of wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Sometimes it is limited to even one country, say Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Or the tasting might be based on price. Or maybe each guest brings their favorite bottle and everyone has to guess.
