Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur A Chocolate Lover’s Dream Come True

November 17, 2014 – What could be better than aged Irish whiskey and yummy chocolate blended with rich Irish cream?  Nothing comes close!  Kerrygold, the famous brand that markets quality Irish dairy products in the U.S., introduced this delicious liqueur late last summer.  It’s a year ‘round sipper but especially perfect for chilly nights that need brightening. The thing that struck us was the balance of the three flavors.  Yes, you can taste the chocolate and yes, you can taste the Irish whiskey but neither dominates.  It’s gotta be the cream that makes it work so smoothly.

A simple and delicious way to enjoy Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur is to pour it over a few ice cubes then sit back and savor the perfect blend of rich chocolate, Irish whiskey and Irish cream.  But since this is the season to invite friends over and impress them with your mixologist talents, here’s a recipe to knock their socks off:

SIN CITY        

Ingredients:

o 1 oz. Kerrygold Irish Cream
o 1 oz. Sobieski Cynamon Vodka

o .5 oz. Sobieski Espresso Vodka

Combine ingredients with ice in shaker. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Out of time but need a quick fix or two to make an ordinary evening special?

A boring cup of coffee becomes something to sip and savor with a splash of this liqueur to “kick it up a notch” as Emeril would say.  Top the coffee with cream whipped with a bit of the liqueur and sprinkled with nutmeg.  Yum!  No time to make a special dessert?  Try a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream served in a champagne coupe, doused in Kerrygold Liqueur and a few shavings of chocolate on top and/or a sprinkle of chopped hazelnuts.  Winner!

P.S.  If you’ve got any of the cream you whipped up for the coffee left over, pile it on top of the ice cream then decorate.  We believe in going for broke when it comes to desserts.
