New Flavors of Alcoholic Sodas Tap Into Nostalgia
October 14, 2016 – Two new alcoholic sodas from WG Brewing in Nashville hit the market recently. Wild Docta’ and Wild Sit Russ joined Wild Ginger Alcoholic Beer and Wild Root Alcoholic Root Beer.
Wild Docta’ taps a nostalgic vein with its gown-up nod to Rock & Rye soda – a rich blend of vanilla, cherry and cola flavors that tastes good right out of the can, on the rocks, or with a shot. Wild Sit Russ speaks to the consumer’s taste for lemon lime (citrus – Sit Russ. Get it?) soda and adds alcohol. The can features a big, ferocious looking dog, presumably Russ.
We’re not sure why the fascination for cornball and cartoonish labels but the company does come up with some interesting flavors and promises more in 2017.
Wild Docta’ is 5% ABV while Wild Sit Russ is 4% ABV. Suggested retail for 12-ounce cans is around $9.99. Product is available in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
