May 27, 2021 – The Memorial Day weekend kicks off the start of the summer season so a new cocktail recipe is a good way to celebrate. We’ve selected four that are “doable” – they taste good, look good, but are not too complicated. You almost certainly have one or two of the main ingredients on hand: Crown Royal Canadian Whisky, Captain Morgan Rum and Roe & Co. Irish Whiskey.
If your plans include lounging on the beach or hiking the hills and mixing cocktails is not an option, Bacardi has expanded their line of Real Rum Canned Cocktails to include three vibrant new flavors. The new flavors are Bahama Mama, Mojito and Sunset Punch (Sunset Punch exclusively available as part of a new variety pack). The new flavors join the existing popular flavors of Lime and Soda, Limon &Lemonade and Rum Punch.
Royal Blue Slush
1 oz. Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Whisky
2 oz. blue curaçao
2 oz. Hpnotiq liqueur
Method:Add Crown Royal, Blue Curaçao, Hpnotiq liqueur and ice to a blender and blend until slushy. Pour into a glass and add a sugar stick for garnish.
Captain Morgan Beach Side Chiller
1.5 oz Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
0.5 oz Captain Morgan White Coconut Rum
4 oz pineapple juice
1 oz cream of coconut
1 oz orange juice
Method: In a tall glass or shaker mix together Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum, Captain Morgan White Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and orange juice. Pour over ice and garnish with pineapple leaf.
Roe & Co Sour
1.5 oz Roe & Co
0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
1 egg white (optional)
Dollop of whipped cream (optional)
Garnish with lemon peel
Method:Add Roe & Co, lemon juice, simple syrup and egg white, if using, to a shaker and dry-shake for 30 seconds without ice. Add ice and shake again until well chilled. Double strain over rock ice in a rocks glass and garnish with lemon peel.
