Father’s Day Gift Suggestions

June 16, 2021 —  Time is running out, friend, but here are some suggestions to save the day and ensure you are not cut out of the will, at least this year.  These are for the Dads who like to make cocktails, think about making cocktails one of these days (but never quite get around to it) or who simply enjoy sipping a good cocktail. 

Death & Co: Modern Classic Cocktails

Nickel Dime Cocktail Syrups

Copalli Rum

From the small, Central American country of Belize comes Copalli Rum with a very clean pedigree.  It is made in Belize from just three ingredients: sugar cane from the neighboring organic farm, water from the rain-forest canopy and yeast. 

The Copal Tree Distillery was built to be carbon neutral. In fact, they are currently undergoing a green house gas audit to determine exactly what their footprint is (expected zero or negative).  The results will be back mid June.

The Copal Tree Distillery operates under a closed system, meaning zero waste. The sugar cane is harvested and juiced, and then the fiber is dried and used as fuel to power the stills. After the rum is distilled, the remaining liquid and ash are used as fertilizer for the cane fields.  Any wastewater from the distillery goes through a filtration system and into retention ponds. From there, it’s safe to go into the river or used to water plants and crops.
