Labor Day Cocktails for Summer’s Send Off
September 1, 2021 — It’s unofficial but whether we like it or not, Labor Day is summer’s send off. Even if it stays blazing hot, our thoughts turn to fall so let’s drink to the summer of 2021 which was waaay better than last year.
Choose rum, tequila or vodka to make a memorable libation for this summer’s farewell. If entertaining for Labor Day, the Bacardi Spiced Palmer is easy to make into a group serve simply by multiplying all the ingredients by six.
Bacardi Spiced Palmer
- 1 ½ oz. Bacardi Spiced Rum
- 1 ½ oz. lemonade
- 1 ½ oz. peach tea
Method: Fill a highball glass with cubed ice. Pour in the Bacardi Spiced Rum, followed by the lemonade and peach tea. Give it all a gentle stir. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a mint sprig.
Bacardi Life’s a Beach
- 1 ½ oz. Bacardi Añejo Cuatro Rim
- ¾ oz. Reàl Passion Fruit Puree-infused syrup
- ¾ oz. lime juice
- 1 ½ oz. coconut water
Method: Shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into a highball glass over cubed ice. Garnish with a pineapple leaf and/or pineapple wedge.
Hornitos Tequila Zarza
- 2 parts Hornitos Reposado Tequila
- 1 part simple syrup
- 1 part fresh lemon juice
- Blackberries
- Float: DeKuyper Creme de Cassis Liqueur
Method: Combine all ingredients, excluding liqueur. Shake well. Strain and serve over crushed ice in a rocks glass. Float liqueur on top. Garnish with fresh blackberries.
Pinnacle Light & Ripe Apricot Honeysuckle Green Tea
- 1.5 parts Pinnacle Apricot Honeysuckle Vodka
- 3 parts unsweetened green tea
- .25 oz (½ tbsp) honey
- 2 peach slices
- Soda water
Method: In a highball cocktail glass, gently muddle peach slices and honey. Add Pinnacle Light & Ripe Apricot Honeysuckle, green tea and ice. Stir to combine. Top with soda water and garnish with additional peach or apricot slices.
