It’s St. Patrick’s Day! Time for Roe & Co Irish Whiskey

Roe & Co Hi-Ball 1 Feature

March 14, 2024 – If it’s St. Patrick’s Day, then our tastes turn to Irish Whiskey and the perennial favorite, Irish Coffee.  But for the adventurous, we found two new ways to mark the occasion created by Roe & Co’s North American Brand Ambassador, Josh Cameron.

We’re intrigued by his Roe & Co. Smash, which we’re going to mix up shortly.  For once we have limes in the fridge!  The addition of sugar, mint and lime sounds very refreshing.  We’re also are very curious about Milk Punch in The Roe Life Hi-Ball.  If you don’t know what Milk Punch is, don’t feel bad because neither did we.  So we did an online search and came up with this very interesting video on YouTube

There’s also Clarified Milk Punch that made its appearance in England in the 1700s.  According to notes by one manufacturer, Bronson’s Milk Punch, Benjamin Franklin enjoyed Milk Punch and shared his recipe.  A century later, Charles Dickens was also known to be a fan.  The Clarified version stands on its own as a libation that can be enjoyed over ice, it can be aged successfully and requires no refrigeration.  Check local supermarkets and liquor stores as there are several brands that are widely available.

Oh and one more thing, The Roe Life Hi-Ball also mentions Fever Tree Yuzu.    What’s Yuzu?  It’s an East Asian citrus mainly grown in Japan.  It’s yellow, round and bumpy and very expensive as not much is grown in California.  It is used for juice and zest and not consumed raw like other citrus.  Fever Tree makes quality products so if you can find their Yuzu flavor it will be worth spending a bit extra for it.

After all that, I think I need an Irish Coffee!  The recipe below can be served hot or cold.  And if you would like to catch up on Roe & Co.’s history, check out the story we posted when the brand entered the U.S. market in April 2019.  Happy fifth birthday!   Suggested retail 32.99 – $34.99.  45% ABV.
