It’s never too late to bone up on grill skills. Two new tomes are on the market that will take your grilling and entertaining efforts to new heights.


Bon Appétit ‘s editor-in-chief, Adam Rapoport, has collected 350 foolproof recipes for “The Grilling Book” (Andrews McMeel Publishing $45). It comes with dozen of luscious color photographs, crystal clear illustrations, and plenty of plainspoken, here’s-how-to-do-it guidelines.


Celebrated Napa chef, restaurateur, author, and television personality Michael Chiarello is sharing his secrets in “Michael Chiarello’s Live Fire” (Chronicle Books $35). Michael’s cookbooks have sold a half a million copies. A master at cooking over fire, he loves to share his passion, cooking philosophy and recipes. The book contains 125 of Michael’s surefire recipes for all courses and 100 sumptuous photographs.
