Don’t Mess With Champagne!
A bottled water outfit cleverly called Beverly Hills 90H20 has really annoyed the Champagne Bureau USA, located in Washington, DC. The Beverly Hills Drink Co. described 90H20 as the “Champagne of waters” on their web site. Using the word “Champagne” for anything other than the sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France is a big no-no. Champagne producers are very aggressive in defending their name worldwide.
Reacting to the cease and desist letter, the president of the Beverly Hills Drink Co. decided a lawsuit was not worth it and agreed to drop the reference in their marketing materials.
