Here are few interesting facts about California wine.  Could be useful icebreakers next time the conversation gets stuck.

• California makes 90% of all U.S. wine and is the world’s 4^th leading wine producer after France, Italy and Spain.

• 20.7 million tourists visit California wine regions, about five million more than Disneyland in Anaheim, which attracts less than 16 million.

• Three out of every five bottles of wine sold in the U.S. comes from California.

• The industry creates 330,000 jobs in California and 820,000 nationwide.

• The estimated retail value of California wines in the U.S. market is $22 billion.

That should get you through a half a glass of wine.  After that, no one cares about statistics (or can remember them)!
