Law Will Help Booze Students in California

The no-drinking-before-21 law has been in effect in California for students studying winemaking and brewing. That makes it very difficult to understand and appreciate how many techniques change taste, quality, etc. For some students, it has meant delaying graduating as they have to wait to turn 21 to take specific classes.
An Assemblyman has proposed legislation to allow students enrolled in enology and brewing classes to taste alcohol as a part of their curriculum. It is definitely not a free for all for students looking for an elective. Both Oregon and Washington states have exemption so surely it is time for cutting edge California to move into the 21st century. We’re betting the legislation will pass.
