Cruise Ship and Airline Serve Their Drinking Customers

Feb. 20, 2015 – It’s good to know both Carnival and Delta take their drinking customers seriously.

Carnival will be launching their biggest ever liner, the 4000 passenger Carnival Vista, with many revolutionary features, but the one that caught our attention was the RedFrog Pub.  It’s not just any old pub.  The RedFrog will serve three beers made on board.  There will be a gristmill to grind the grains needed for brewing on a lower deck and holding tanks beside the pub entrance where passengers can watch fermentation.  There’ll be taps inside the tables where you can pour your own pint.  Don’t know how that works but it sounds interesting.  This is definitely a first in the cruise industry.  Can a winery be far behind?
Less exotic and on a much smaller scale, Delta Airlines is offering passengers a special cocktail that was the winner of an international competition among flight attendants.  The cocktail is called Jack and Joe and combines Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey with coffee and Baileys Irish Cream. It is now available on most Delta flights priced at $10.  We think the name should be Jack, Joe and Paddy.
