Ingenious Way to Store Beer

March 23, 2015 – This idea for storing beer in the fridge is so clever you have to wonder why someone didn’t think of it before! Fortunately, someone did and you can buy it.
BottleLoft – even the name is clever – is a system for hanging beer bottles above a shelf freeing up space for other necessities like dips or pizza. The creation of product designer Brian Conti, it was funded on Kickstarter last year and is now available through his web site www.stronglikebullmagnets.com. (This was the fifth product he has funded through Kickstarter.)
Brian says BottleLoft was born out of necessity. All those six-packs were crowding his fridge. We only half believe him. So here’s how it works:

You will receive however many strips you order. Each plastic strip is 8” long x 1.5” wide and contains three magnets. The magnets are neodymium, which is something to do with rare earths that we really don’t understand. But they are super strong and that’s what counts. The magnets are sized to fit any bottle with a metal lid.

You’ll also receive a strip of adhesive tape designed by 3M Company to adhere in very cold temperatures. Brian’s package even includes a pad to clean the surface before applying the adhesive tape.
The strips can be arranged from front to back or horizontally, whichever suits your storage needs better. And it they are not just for beer. Other drinks and juices can be sent to the Loft freeing up shelf space.

A strip for three bottles costs $19.00. Don’t worry about safety. Each magnet will hold 50 lbs and the adhesive tape is rated to hold 110 lbs per square inch.
We love this idea and hope it solves the maddening lack of space in your fridge.
