Ben & Jerry’s and New Belgium Brewery Team Up

April 17, 2015 – Collaboration between these two well-known companies has the beer world agog with excitement. Will it be an ice cream flavored beer or a beer flavored ice cream? Judging from the press release, this is a marriage based on their common B Corporation status, the “B” standing Beneficial. As stated in the press release, “B Corps are held to performance standards that are comprehensive and transparent, measuring a company’s impact on workers, suppliers, communities and the environment.” Both companies share this passion. Hmmm. Admirable but where’s the beer?
There will be a beer (we think). New Belgium Brewery has developed a special release called Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale set for release in the Fall of 2015. Ben & Jerry’s Salted Caramel Core ice cream must have been the inspiration. We’re told there will be more information to come as plans develop.
Meanwhile, if you got all excited anticipating beer flavored ice cream, there are quite a few around. Just search the Internet. Last resort, create your own ice cream and beer float.
