Johnnie Walker’s Latest Wacky Invention: Mustache Wax

July 10, 2015 – We’ve told you about the shoes with hidden miniatures in the heels http://www.wineandspirits.com/these-shoes-are-made-for-boozing/and the glass that produces music when it touches your teeth http://www.wineandspirits.com/johnnie-walkers-revolutionary-glass/, now the creative team at Johnnie Walker has come up with yet another gimmick — a mustache wax flavored specifically to enhance the taste of a Johnnie & Ginger cocktail, which is a blend of Red Label, ginger ale and a lime wedge.

The mustache wax comes in three flavors — Piperine Pepper, Citrus Essence or Ginger Root.  If you want to know what Piperine Pepper is, have at it.  We couldn’t possibly explain it without hiring a chemistry major.

Apparently mustaches are becoming popular in London and the original Johnnie Walker sported one.  So far the wax is available exclusively through Huckle The Barber, Shoreditch, London priced at £7.99 ($12.29) with the set of three costing £20 ($30.75).  You can see the little tins of the stuff on their website.  Talk about British understatement.  The photo is microscopic and there’s no description or sales pitch.  However, for the fellow who has everything, including a mustache, it’s an amusing gift http://hucklethebarber.com/
