Craft Beer Has Plenty to Celebrate

July 31, 2015 – The craft beer craze shows no sign of slowing down.
The Brewers Association, a craft beer trade organization, reports that volume rose a healthy 16% in the first half of 2015. That’s about 12.2 million barrels of beer.
The number of breweries is not diminishing either. As of June this year there were 3, 739 operating across the U.S., which is 700 more than a year ago. Another 1,755 are in the planning process.
The Brewers Association defines a craft brewer as a company producing six million barrels of beer or less, being below 25% controlled by a non-craft company and as having the majority of its production in traditionally brewed beer.
