September 30, 2015 – Burger King has created Whopper Wine to celebrate its 40th anniversary of operations in Spain. They advertise that the barrels used in winemaking have been “flame grilled” to complement their flame grilled burger. Most wine barrels are “charred” to specifications of the winemaker.
Burger King has offered wine with its burgers since it entered the Spanish market. The Whopper Wine is the first time the company has created a branded alcoholic beverage. We have to say the packaging is very snazzy, cool, and awesome and we have to wonder if we will soon see it introduced to the U.S. market. There’s a trend building in fast food outlets to increase their evening receipts by adding alcohol. We predict that Whopper Wine will be more successful than Whopper fragrance, which was sold by their Japanese franchises. That one boggles the imagination.
