#ChampagneDay Tomorrow Calls for Celebration!

October 22, 2015 – Tomorrow, Friday October 23, is #ChampagneDay and the Champagne Bureau would like you to celebrate by opening a bottle of the real stuff – from France. This is the sixth annual call to celebration and as Champagne-o-philes, we’re wondering what happened to the previous five since this is the first time we’ve heard of it.
The Champagne Bureau is the U.S. representative of the Comité Champagne, the trade association that represents all the grape growers and houses of Champagne, France.
A west coast blogger decided that a Friday at the end of October was a good time to celebrate with the world’s greatest and original celebratory wine. Social media has helped the annual #ChampagneDay to take on global proportions so you will see corks being popped around the world.
Since Champagne tends to be pricey, starting at around $40 a bottle and working up from there, an affordable way to join the fun is to buy at glass at a bar or restaurant. Since it is a wonderful accompaniment to so many foods, don’t hesitate to order a glass for dinner if you are dining out on Friday night.
Join the worldwide celebration by posting photos, comments, tasting notes and video on social media and use the hash tag #ChampagneDay. Don’t forget to take a photo of the label so all your friends know you are drinking the real thing.
