June 12, 2018 – Reyka Vodka Wants U.S. World Cup Fans to Root for Iceland

Since Team USA’s face plant in the World Cup playoffs, who are we going to root for?  Reyka Vodka suggests Iceland.  Let’s overlook the embarrassing fact that a tiny nation of 335,000 made the cut and we didn’t.  We can console ourselves by good naturedly rooting for an underdog and drown our sorrows in their very fine Icelandic vodka at the same time.  Plus, guess what?  Iceland’s colors are red, white and blue!  The red represents the fire of volcanoes, the white represents the snow and ice, and the blue the Atlantic Ocean that surrounds the island nation.

So Reyka Vodka has organized an online store replete with “Go Iceland” gear and apparel.  Their Brand Ambassador, Trevor Schneider has created three cocktails (recipes below) that are easy to make and will go down well while rooting for Iceland.  Reyka is also organizing and hosting viewing parties in Portland, Nashville, New York, and Baltimore, starting with the June 16th match against Argentina. Fans can cheer and even Viking chant together while watching this year’s games. Additional details to be announced separately.  Here’s an awesome video of 10,000 fans in Reykjavik welcoming the team home in 2016 with a Viking chant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_cwcTNGp3U

Reyka Vodka is made using the purest of pure glacial spring water, lava rock filtration, geo-thermal energy, a rare Carter-Head Still, and is distilled in preciously small batches to ensure the utmost quality in every bottle.  If you’ve never heard of a Carter-Head Still, don’t feel bad.  There are only six in the world.  The lava rocks do such a great filtration job that it is only distilled once while other vodkas have multi distillations.  Yet Reyka is competitive when it comes to clean and smooth taste and finish.  Perfect on the rocks or in a cocktail.

For more information check out www.reyka.com.  The online store will be available there June 18 but in the meantime you can check out where to pick up a bottle of Reyka Vodka for around $22.00 for Saturday’s game.  Go Iceland!
