July 25. 2019 — Well, Comic-Con is over and apparently so is The Walking Dead. But fans can drown their sorrows in The Walking Dead Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey coming soon. The announcement was made at a sneak preview event at Comic-Con in San Diego last weekend.
For those unfamiliar with The Walking Dead, the post-apocalyptic phenomenon started as a comic book series in 2003 created by Robert Kirkman. The Kentucky Straight Bourbon will be made and marketed by Spirits of the Apocalypse, a strategic alliance between Diageo and Skybound Entertainment, the company behind The Walking Dead comic series, to share new spirits with “Walkers” and those who love them.
The Walking Dead Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will be a limited-time only release and will be sold nationwide at select retailers beginning fall 2019. The 750 ml bottle will have a suggested retail between $31.99 and $36.99. At 94 proof, 47% ABV, it can be enjoyed neat or in popular whiskey cocktails.
