Hangover Free Liquor Developed by North Korea. Really?

January 22, 2016 – Along with inventing a cure for ebola, Sars, AIDS and cancer, the strange little “Hermit Kingdom” of North Korea is now touting their latest creation of hangover-free alcohol. That’s almost as newsworthy as their explosion, or not, of a hydrogen bomb on January 6.
The BBC quoting the Pyongyang Times said, “Koryo Liquor, which is made of six-year-old Kaesong Koryo insam, known as being highest in medicinal effect, and the scorched rice, is highly appreciated by experts and lovers as it is suave and causes no hangover.” Insam is an indigenous ginseng. The rice is organically grown and it replaces sugar but still manages to reduce the bitterness of the insam. Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory had been working for years on the elixir, the BBC reported. And did we mention the 30 to 40 percent proof liquor received an award? No word on whether it is Dear Leader’s favorite tipple.
We will give them credit for the packaging. The bottle would be a conversation piece on any bar.
