Big Brother Will Monitor Your Booze Buying

This is scary.  Apparently hospitals can track your buying habits and will know if you are loading up on candy and calories that can affect your health.  Why would they do that and how do they get the information?  Under Obamacare, hospitals are rewarded for good outcomes.  Your pigging out habits may affect those outcomes.

As you surely know by now, every time you swipe a credit card, information on that purchase goes somewhere.  Supermarkets know your favorite items and offer you deals on those items; search the net for shoes, hotels, cars, whatever and suddenly those items appear on your home page.  Companies known as data brokers track your credit card purchases and sell the information, which hospitals can buy and then build a profile of your lifestyle.  It’s happening already.  Just how private is that information?  Who knows?
