Since 1990, Sutter Home Family Vineyards in the Napa Valley has held an annual contest to find the best burger recipe. With a generous grand prize of $100,000 for the winner of the best beef burger, it is certainly worth honing your creative cooking skills.
The contest for 2013 opened April 1 and closes September 2. Entries from all 50 states are eligible. There is also a category for alternative burgers with a prize of $15,000 for the winning recipe.
