Bourbon’s Fascinating History

There’s an article worth reading on Smithsonian.com about a new book on bourbon. The book’s author, historian and bourbon lover Michael Veach poses a new and plausible theory about how bourbon got its name; you will also learn how Prohibition contributed to the Great Depression; and which American President liked a shot of Old Granddad with his breakfast bacon and egg.
The book is “Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey: An American Heritage” and here’s the link to the Smithsonian article: http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/food/2013/06/the-boozy-history-of-where-bourbon-really-got-its-name-and-more-tips-on-americas-native-spirit/
