More Good News for Red Wine

Can red wine inhibit growth of lung cancer cells?  Sounds amazing but a study reported in “Cancer Cell International” suggests that it can.  A research team experimented with both red and white wine on six different cultures of human lung cancer cells and found 60% inhibition of cell reproduction.  The red wine was more effective than the white.  The experiment was repeated four times to ensure the veracity of the results.

Since the beginning of the 2014, we’ve written about a French study indicating that a combination of red wine and aspirin reduced abnormal bowel cancer cells in mice; about alcohol increasing the effectiveness of vaccinations; how moderate consumption improves the immune system; red wine and chocolate protecting against diabetes, and red wine benefiting the heart.

No wonder the French say Santé! which means “health” when they raise their glass of wine.
