Toast and Beer Spread for Breakfast? Hide the Kids!

Move over marmalade. Bye bye peanut butter. There’s a new spread from Italy called Birra Spalmabile – that’s Italian for “spreadable beer” – and we’re assured it tastes delicious on toast and just about everything else, including ice cream. A chocolate maker and brewer got together and concocted a sticky-but-smooth spread that is 40% beer but no alcohol. It does have a hoppy scent for beer lovers to enjoy. It is available in the U.S. via Firebox.com and costs $16.09 a jar for 280 grams or about 9 ounces.
