Coravin Wine Opener Launches Model Two

October 8, 2015 – The clever wine opener that allows wine to be extracted from a bottle without pulling the cork, has launched a new sleek model with some improvements gleaned from home users, as well as professionals, around the world.

We first wrote about Coravin when it was introduced in August, 2013.  As we said then, it is the perfect solution for the wine enthusiast who is reluctant to open an expensive bottle for just one glass but is dying to find out how the wine is aging, or simply feels like a glass of something wonderful, but again, doesn’t want to open a whole bottle.  By inserting a thin needle through the cork, the wine can be extracted and the space created in the bottle, filled with argon gas protecting the remaining wine from oxidation. Model Two’s improvements include:

  • A streamlined, modern design with brushed metal accents in dark graphite
  • A thin Wall Needle that pours 20 percent faster than the original needle while still not damaging the cork, and also locks into place to prevent leaks
  • New “L” shaped ProperFit Clamps with textured grips, making them easier to squeeze to ensure a secure hold on every bottle
  • New Capsule Cup Load Cell Technology ensuring a tight seal every time between the device and the gas capsule for leak proof installation of the capsule

Coravin is available at Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus and Sur la Table retailing for $329.95.  Amazon has the older system for $299.  Check out www.coravin.com for more details and to order product.  Gift giving season looms!
