A Cocktail to Serve While Watching the Olympics

August 5, 2016 – The 2016 Olympics open today in Rio de Janeiro and will dominate television until August 21.  When friends drop by, you need an appropriate cocktail to offer.  Here’s a simple recipe with a Brazilian touch to toast U.S. athletes at the Olympics in Rio.  It’s so quick you won’t miss a single event

1.5 oz Roca Patrón Silver
.75 oz Simple syrup
3 Lime wedges, halved
1 Demerara sugar cube

In the bottom of a double Old Fashioned glass, muddle the lime wedges, simple syrup and sugar cube. Add ice and Roca Patrón Silver, then roll the drink back and forth twice between glass and mixing shaker. Pour back into double Old Fashioned glass, top with more ice if needed, and serve.
