Interest in high proof spirits correlates with the popularity of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” series that started out pre-Prohibition and now dwells on the bootlegging business of its protagonist. Movies set in the pre-Prohibition era such as “the Great Gatsby” also have contributed to growing consumer interest in the style of spirits of this time period.
Hints of maple and smoke are flavors are unique and go well with a big bourbon like the 90 proof Knob Hill according to a distillery spokesman.
