Come Fly With Me Then Taste Some Wine The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift
April 30, 2021 — What could be a more amazing and memorable gift than a scenic tour of the Napa Valley in a vintage aircraft followed by a relaxing private wine tasting featuring Aileron Estates Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aileron Estates is a new luxury Napa winery headed by Shannon O’Shaughnessy, herself a pilot as passionate about wine as she is about flying.
This exclusive and limited “Take Flight” program starts in May and will be offered year-round, weather permitting for groups of two to eight people starting at $550 per person. A boxed lunch option is available for an extra fee. The experience includes a 20-minute scenic flight, including aerobatics, described below, if desired, followed by a private tasting hosted by Shannon O’Shaughnessy.
The aircraft provided by Vintage Aircraft are Boeing PT-17 Stearman planes modified to accommodate two passengers in the front open cockpit. Stearmans were the first aircraft a cadet would fly during flight training prior to and during World War II. Known for its stability and strength, the Stearman was a reliable primary trainer and remains a popular classic today.
Both of Vintage Aircraft’s pilots have been commercial pilots for more than 30 years, and they’ll lead two guests for a 20-minute scenic tour of wine country. For those looking for an additional thrill, guests will have the chance to experience aerobatics, including inverting, a Barrel Roll, a Hammer Head—and possibly a Cuban Eight.
With or without the aerobatics, Take Flight is a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, mementos occasion or none at all. Just simply to have fun.
To book Aileron Estate’s Take Flight experience, please call 707- 561- 9454 or email info@aileronestates.com. Take Flight is hosted by Aileron’s proprietor Shannon O’Shaughnessy and is only available on a very limited basis with a minimum of two-week advance booking required. All COVID-safety rules, including mask wearing, and other California requirements will be strictly enforced.
